Vita Park Golf Resort celebrated the opening of its Milas par-71 course on July 11th, 2008. The course is the first of two 18-hole courses planned for the resort and the first in the Bodrum-Milas region to meet international standards.

Vita Park lies close to Tuzla Bay, a unique wetland habitat for a number of rare bird species and flamingoes. The resort encompasses a total area of one and a half million square meters, including the 5795-metre course, clubhouse and the Mike Adams Golf Academy. It is the only golf facility in Turkey to have achieved ISO 14001 accreditation by TürkAK and the German DAR (Deutscher Akkreditierungs Rat).
The Milas par-71 course offers all the charm and challenge of a traditional course and includes features reminiscent of the best Scottish links courses. The resort has been borne out of respect and passion for the game, a commitment to excellence and the desire to play in the best possible conditions. With an average of 240 players per day in summer (groups of four players start every nine minutes) and about 180 per day in the winter, the Milas course is designed for good strategic games in perfect harmony with the natural environment.
Vita Park Golf Resort uses Paspalum grass, a species that requires irrigation only every two to three days, for three to five minutes. This represents about one-third the requirement of Bermuda grass and one-sixth the requirement of typical lawn grass and once it is established, Paspalum grass will even tolerate seawater. Fairways for golf carts, the clubhouse and the Golf Academy have all been designed in a ‘minimalist’ style and without using concrete, providing an enjoyable natural environment, both on and off the course.
Vita Park Golf Resort’s second 18-hole course, the 6480-metre Halikarnas par-70, is due to open in 2011. With topography reminiscent of some of Arizona’s dramatic courses, the Halikarnas par-70 will include a private driving range and with native landscaping with waterfalls and creeks.
The complex will also feature housing and leisure facilities including tennis, swimming and fitness. At the official opening, Vita Park Golf Resort’s owner, Dr Gürol Büyük said, “Vita Park represents the culmination of fifteen years of meticulous design work with my son Erol and today we are delighted to be able to finally share with you our vision and make this contribution to the sport of golf - Turkey’s first and only international-standard golf facility, Vita Park.” Vita Park Golf Resort invites Mike Adams, the famous golf trainer to Turkey. Golf instruction gets underway from March 28th to April 5th at the Mike Adams Golf Academy. The Academy is based at Vita Park Golf Resort. Vita Park’s Milas par-71 18-hole golf course is the first in the region to achieve international standards.
The Academy will offer instruction by Mike Adams, the worlds most sought after golf instructor, two or three times a year. This is the second time Mike Adams will teach in Vita Park Golf Resort. An instructor at the Florida Golf Academy, Mike rates among the 50 best golf instructors worldwide. He has written 11 golf books including Golf Magazine’s top rated book, ‘The Laws of the Golf Swing’.
The Academy teaches players at all levels, from beginners to tournament players. Among Mike’s many students are a number of Hollywood celebrities and past Presidents. Known as the ‘Swing Doctor’, Mike enables each player to adjust their swing to his or her physical capabilities thereby enhancing their performance and enjoyment of the game.
Golf training with Mike Adams is scheduled in blocks of two or three days each for groups of six to twelve students. On March 30th - April 5th, players will have the opportunity to take private lessons with Mike.
Geoffroy de Dieudonné, one of Mike Adams’ top students and himself a recognised instructor will be at Vita Park throughout the year, providing golf instruction in English and French. For training and registration contact:

Golf in Bodrum is very new. In Bodrum Town itself there is a 9-hole golf course which is open to non-members. However, the major new courses are going in at Tuzla Lake close to the pretty harbour town of Gulluk. Vita Park Golf Resort is the first of these and the first of its two courses, the Milas, is now open to visitors. This 18 hole golf course is based on a scottish links style course with the greens hugging the contours of Lake Tuzla to the north. The second course, the Halikarnos, is due to open fully in 2011 |
